How does it work?

Just Walk

Grab your shoes and go for a daily walk. It’s that simple. Your walk may be ‘around the block’, it may be in a park, on a country lane, or in a field. The most important thing is to take as many ‘steps’ as you can – every day!

What Time

Habits form more easily when done on a regular and consistent basis. That’s why we encourage you to take your walk at 8:00am or 8:00pm, daily.

Aim for Streaks

The more walking the better! We encourage you to walk the block every single day. Creating and tracking streaks helps instil a daily ritual. But no matter how often your walk, enjoy it!

Share Your Participation

By signing up to WTB, we can track the number of “Block Walkers” around the world. Our goal is 100,000 walkers by 2027. When you sign up, a special WTB block will be mailed to you to take on your walks!

Our Story

It all started in 2021, when Mandi and Alex went for their first walk together in a small town in Canada. Ever since then, they’ve been walking together. They started WTB@8OC to help share the health and wellness benefits that come from walking the block - every day!

How much does it cost?

Walk the Block is free to join. If you can, add a small donation to help cover the cost of the BLOCK and postage. Many walkers choose $10 or $20 to help grow this global walking community.

When will I get my BLOCK?

We’re shipping in small batches. You’ll receive a confirmation email and an ETA after filling out our form. Each BLOCK is a simple, visual cue to remind you of your daily walking routine.

Do I have to walk exactly at 8?

No—consistency matters more than perfection. Pick 8am or 8pm, or any other time daily that works for you and a friend or family member. Lace up, and go! The shared 8 o’clock time creates easy momentum, but the key is to walk every day. Use your BLOCK (and a reminder) to celebrate your streaks.

HOW LONG or FAR SHOULD I WALK?

Start with 10–15 minutes. You’ll feel the lift in energy and mood quickly. Many walkers naturally stretch to 20–30 minutes as it becomes a fun daily habit. Walking at a brisk but comfortable pace is one of the best low-impact cardio exercises available.

Walking is a gentle, low-impact exercise that improves energy, mood, and sleep. It helps maintain bone strength and balance, supports a healthy metabolism, and provides a daily dose of fresh air and sunlight.
